Saturday night as people left Kari & Paul's wedding reception at the VFW they found an incredible display of Northern Lights lighting the northern sky.
BIOGRAPHICAL: Written by Kari Wilson; 1995.
Paul and I met getting our picture taken together for the '89-90 Hudson High School yearbook. We were married at St. Patrick's Parish on Vine Street, across the street from the Junior and Senior High Schools.
Paul was born in LaMarado, California and when his mother and father divorced he lived with his mother in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father had relocated to Hudson with his new wife; when Paul and I met, Paul was 16 and living there with his dad.
Paul and I were both very active in art in high school and have several murals in the school that we painted together.
We have three children now. Jake and Ford were born in Hudson at the same hospital where I was born, and Elaine was born at Doctor's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Paul and I lived outside of Tulsa in a small unincorporated town called Prue. Nevertheless, we decided Hudson was "home" and we are currently
relocating.
We like to travel and even the kids are experienced campers. Paul has a fondness of the south and camping on the ocean, while I have a greater interest in the northern woods and canoeing, so our greatest arguments are over which
campground to chose.
DIVORCE: 15 Aug 1996 from Paul Wilson
HSO, 16Mar2000
A $7,000 grant for promoting census response, given to the St. Croix County Department of Aging, is allowing it to distribute 2,000 posters and flyers in many places you might expect--plus some new ones... Some of the grant money goes for the salary, fringe benefits and mileage for a temporary, part-time employee who is distributing the materials, helping recruit volunteers and census workers, and meeting with groups that can help in the effort. The employee also is arranging cable access program coverage and seeing that the information gets in newspapers, newsletters, even church bulletins.
That employee is Hudson's Karine Butler. "Every city, village and town in the county should see me by the end of the month," she said.
How many items has she distributed thus far? "Oh, boy. That's a good question," Butler said. Let is suffice to say the department has gone through 24 reams of paper. The grant money also funds costs of photocopying, printing posters and postage....
OTHER MARRIAGE: 5 Sep 1998, St. Joseph Twp., St. Croix Co. Wis. to Matthew Clay Butler; DIVORCE: 12 Jun 2001
