Putnam, Floyd E., 75, of 618 Washington, Sandpoint, died Wednesday (July 25) in a Spokane hospital after several years of illness.He was born at Rice Lake, Wis, Oct 21, 1897, and came to this area in 1919 from Clouquet, Minn. Mr Putnam was a landscape gardener, having retired last spring.
He was a member of the Catholic Church. He and the former Selma Giroux were married in Minnesota in 1918.
He is survived by his wife, seven sons, William and Jammes W of Sandpoint. Eugene of Rent, WA, Floyd of Spokane, Phillip L of San Francisco, CA, Paul R of Eugene, Ore and Robert E of Shelton, Wash.; a daughter Mrs Ada Boyles of Glendora, CA; 27 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; Four sisters, Mrs Ada Meyers of Cour d Alene, Mrs H C Johnson of Glen Ellen, Ill, Mrs E W Eckblad of Pittsburgh, PA, and Mrs H H Klotz of Mt Vernon, Ohio and a brother, John of Rice, Minn.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10am in St Thomas Catholic Church. Burial in St Thomas Cemetery. English Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
