RICE-John Putnam, 77, Route 2, died Saturday at Valley View Health Care Center, Jordan.
Memorial aervices will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
There will be no visitation.
Mr Putnam was born Jan 6, 1908 in Big Lake to the late Bill and Minnie (Hatch) Putnam. He married Eleanor Berg May 29, 1937, in Iowa and he lived in Minneapolis where he was employed as an accountant by Red Owl Stores. He had been a resident of Rice since 1968 and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include sons and daughter, John, Excelsior; Mrs Harold (Bonnie) Hunt and Charles, St Peter; sisters, Mrs. Ed (Adah) Meyers, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; Mrs. Henry (Goldie) Johnson, Paulies Island, S.C.; Mrs. Mary Eckblad, Lourenburg, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

John S.. Putnam age 77, of Rt.2 Rice, was born January 6, 1908 in Big Lake to the late William and Minnie (Hatch) Putnam.
He married Eleanor Berg May 29, 1937, in Iowa, in Little Brown Church in the Vale, and lived in Minneapolis where he was employed as an accountant by Red Owl Stores. He had been a resident of RIce since 1968 and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include sons and daughter, John Putnam, Excelsior; Mrs. Harold (Bonnie) Hunt, St Peter; Charles, St Peter; sisters, Mrs. Ed (Adah) Meyers, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; Mrs. Henry (Goldie) Johnson, Paulies Island, S.C.; Mrs. Mary Eckblad, Lourenburg, N.C.; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Floyd, Bill, Sid and 2 sisters, Zoe and Teck.
