Anna Josephine died from complications with childbirth. There is some evidence that she gave birth to twins or triplets. The babies did not survive. So many women died from childbirth complications. My grandfather was always concerned that his daughters should not over exert and other things when they were pregant. He often told a story about how Josie hung up the clothes on the clothes line and he associated that with her death. She was his older sister and he was always sad about her death.
