Miscellaneous
On 6-19-1754, John Chilton leased a 159 acre tract of land in Fairfax County, Virginia, from Lewis Ellzey. The land was on the west side of Metockton Mountain and later became part of Loudoun County, Virginia.The lease was for the life of John, his wife Martha, and their son William.
Probate
On 5-26-1767, in Frederick County, Maryland, administrators of John Chilton's estate, William Chilton and Martha Chilton, son and wife of John Chilton, submitted an inventory of John Chilton's estate. The valuation of the estate was £87.0.6.As next of kin James Chilton and Sarah Chilton signed the inventory.
On 9-1-1768, Martha Chilton, as administrator, submitted a list of debts due the estate and their reconciliation.
The estate was distributed to the widow and seven children, none of whom were named on the distribution record.
