Death
Martha Chilton, widow of John Chilton, died about the time she made her will on 9-20-1772, in Loudoun County, Virginia.Will
Martha Chilton's will left personal properties to her oldest daughter Sarah Chilton, sons Thomas and Mark Chilton, youngest daughter Nancy Chilton, daughter-in-law Ann, wife of James Chilton, and grandson John Chilton, son of James Chilton.Her son Mark was given the lease to the plantation where Frances Clerk lived.
The plantation where Martha lived was to be valued and one of her four single children, Sarah, Thomas, Mark, and Nancy were to chose to live on it and pay the other children their equal value.
Martha named her son James Chilton as administrator.
Probate
Martha Chilton's will was proved on 10-1-1772.An inventory of her estate was produced on 12-11-1772, with a value of £57.3.7.
On 4-23-1773, another inventory placed the value of her estate at £57.0.1.
