Bradley, Annie Green and husband J.E. Green, Frank Johnson, and J.E. Johnson, relinquish all claims, for $1, to A.J. Johnson on 100 acres of land in the Wyatt Hall Survey and 10 and 3/4 acres of land in the Tobias Kelley Survey.

Vol. 13, page 483 Coryell County Deed Records:On 7-5-1892, Frank and Earl (his wife) Johnson of Brown Co., TX, sold to John E. Johnson 23 and 4/5 acres of the Mary Hawley Survey and 1/5 interest in the north half of the Mary Hawley Survey conveyed to Frank Johnson in his father A.J. Johnson's will.
This transaction is intended to convey to John E. Johnson all of A.J. Johnson's land conveyed to Frank Johnson in A.J. Johnson's will.
J.E. Johnson paid $100 cash and made two notes for $150 each at 10% interest due 1-1-1893 and 1-1-1894.

Vol. 40, page 361 Coryell County Deed Records:On 6-9-1899, in Oglesby, TX, J.E. and M.F. Johnson sold 47 and 3/5 acres in the Mary Hawley Survey and a 2/5 interest in a 6 acre parcel of the same survey, previously owned by A.J. Johnson, to W.A. Green for a total of $1400 ($150 in cash, $1000 note due 11-1-1899, and a $250 note due 1-1-1901, notes at 10% interest.)
This property was fully paid for by W.A. Green on 9-10-1913 as recorded in the Coryell County Deed Records, Vol. 89, page 602.

Coryell County, Texas, Deed Records, Vol. 58, Page 623:G. W. Coleman and wife M. V.Coleman set out conditions under which they will convey 2 tracts of land to J. E.Johnson and wife M. F. Johnson.
Conditions:
J. E. Johnson and wife M. F. Johnson agree to allow G. W. Coleman and wife M. V. Coleman to live in the home of J. E. Johnson and wife M. F. Johnson the remainder of their natural lives.
If at any time the Colemans desire to have their own house the Johnsons will build one for them at any location selected by the Colemans at an expense of no more than $500.00.
The agreement remains in effect as long as either of the spouses lives and can be terminated by the Colemans if conditions are not met by the Johnsons.
The tracts of land are 135 acres of Mary Hawley Survey and 210 acres of Tobias Kelly Survey in Coryell County, Texas.
Signed 11-28-1913 and filed 1-27-1914.

Vol. 99, page 99 Coryell County Deed Records:On 10-9-1922, G.W. and M.V. Coleman acknowledged that J.E. and M.F. Johnson had complied with all requirements set out in an agreement made on 11-28-1913 [Johnsons to provide home and support for the Colemans in exchange for two tracts of land] and for $5 the Colemans officially transferred ownership of 135 acres of land in the Mary Hawley Survey and 210 acres in the Tobias Kelley Survey to the Johnsons.

Vol. 97, page 585-586, Coryell County Deed Records:On 11-21-1922, J.E. and M.F. Johnson declared the 210 acre tract of land in the Tobias Kelley Survey their homestead and residence where they live with their family.
They make this designation because they own more land than can be exempted by law [from taxes.]
They specifically do not claim as their homestead the 135 acres of land in the Mary Hawley Survey that they have used as collateral for a loan from Mrs. L.B. Lee and lee Hardware Co.

Vol. 97, page 586-587, Coryell County Deed Records:On 11-21-1922, J.E. and M.F. Johnson obtained release of a deed of trust lien they gave on 135 acres of land in the Mary Hawley Survey to secure five notes of $282 each made to C.S. Coleman on 1-26-1914, and payable over a five year span.
C.S. Coleman transferred the notes to J.F. Edwards who transferred them to H.D. Edwards, who agreed to extend the note payments through 1924. The notes passed to H.D. Edwards' widow and his son V.L. Edwards, and they requested that the notes be paid early to settle the H.D. Edwards estate.
The Johnsons paid the notes in full on 10-9-1922 per documentation by J.F. Edwards in Coryell Co. Deed Records, Vol. 97, page 545-546.

Vol. 97, page 586 Coryell County Deed Records:On 11-25-1922, R.M. Casey and M.B. Martin gave an affidavit stating: that they had lived in the Oglesby community for the last 25 years and have known J.E. Johnson and his wife M.F. Johnson that long; they are familiar with the 135 acres in the Mary Hawley Survey owned by the Johnsons since 11-28-1913 when the land was conveyed to them from G.W. and M.V. Coleman; G.W. Coleman acquired the land on 4-24-1882 as shown in Vol. P, page 39 of Coryell Co. Deed Records; the Johnsons have maintained a good fence, continuously used the land, and there is no title dispute.

Vol. 48, page 41 Coryell County Deed Records:On 4-22-1924, J.E. and M.F. Johnson sold 105 acres of the Tobias Kelley Survey to G.G. Johnson for $13,125 to be paid by $3725 cash received, and ten notes the first for $5000 due 5-1-1924, the second for $400 due 1-1-1926, and eight other notes for $500 payable on 1-1 of the following years, all notes at 6% interest.

Vol. 102, page 144 Coryell County Deed Records:On 5-28-1924, G.W. Lee and A.L. Lee gave an affidavit stating: that they have lived near Oglesby, Coryell County since 1883 and since 1883 they have known the 210 acre tract of land in the Tobias Kelley Survey, about 2 or 3 miles south of Oglesby, owned by J.E. Johnson, who has had open possession of the property and maintained a good substantial fence there the entire time; G.G. Johnson now owns 105 acres of this land since 4-22-1924 and he has maintained clear title and a good fence since that time.

Vol. 102, page 166-167 Coryell County Deed Records:On 6-3-1924, J.E. Johnson sold his claim to a lien on 105 acres of land in the Tobias Kelley Survey sold to G.G. and Minnie Johnson. He received $4750 from the Federal Land Bank of Houston as payment on a $5000 note made to that bank by G.G. and Minnie Johnson.
J.E. Johnson retains his claim to the property secured by notes made by G.G. and Minnie Johnson to J.E. Johnson, but his lien is inferior to the bank lien.

Vol. 102, page 157-158 Coryell County Deed Records:On 6-11-1924, payment in full by J.E. and M.F. Johnson for three notes in the total amount of $3000 made to G.W. Lee, trustee for Mrs. L.B. Lee and Lee Hardware, was acknowledged by Eunice Johnson, daughter of the deceased Mrs. L.B. Lee, and Eunice Johnson's husband L.J. Johnson.
The notes were secured by a lien on 135 acres of the Mary Hawley Survey.

Coleman died c 5-5-1927, both intestate; the Colemans' only children were C.S. Coleman and M.F. Johnson, wife of J.E. Johnson; G.W. and M.V. Coleman conveyed 202.8 acres of the Tobias Kelley Survey and 184.5 acres of the Mary Hawley Survey to C.S. Coleman in exchange for being provided a home and full support during their lifetimes or if the Colemans chose to have their own home, a home of $500 value would be built for them; C.S. Coleman and wife Emma maintained, improved, and fenced this land and carried out all the terms of the agreement to care for the Colemans; and no outside claims have been made on this land for more than 20 years.
