Joseph Williams
(Abt 1775 - )
Caswell County Guardians' Accounts.
1796 Robert Kimbrough, for Joseph Williams, orphan of Henry Williams. Perhaps this is a report filed as the guardianship ended, because Joseph had gone to Kentucky by late 1795. Henry Jr. had not even married yet, so it cannot be his son that needs a guardian.

DB J p.108-09 Joseph Williams of Madison Co., KY to Andrew McCauley of Orange Co NC for $300, 280 A on Stoney Cr being part of tract willed Joseph Williams by Henry Williams, decd. 13 Sep 1795. Madison County Marriages, 1786-1822 has the following marriage which might be Joseph's.
Joseph Williams to Sally Searcy, 21 Mar 1796. Robert Searcy, Bondsman. Lucy Searcy, mother of the bride [if the mother gave permission, likely Sally's father was dead].
On 26 Jan 1799, Andrew McCouley of Orange sold 304 acres on Stoney Cr to James Rea of Caswell. Land formerly entered by Henry Williams, dec'd and conveyed by Joseph Williams a legatee to McCauley adj Benjamin Cantrel, crossing Shaw's branch.
Then 20 Dec 1799, James Ray sold to Benjamin Cantrell 304 acres both sides Shaw's Br of Stoney Crk being land whereon Ray lives, and same land granted to Henry Williams dec'd and conveyed by will to his son Joseph Williams who conveyed same to Andrew McCauley and he to James Ray.
