Frances Ann Thomas

(18 Aug 1832 - 3 Aug 1917)

Fannie and Virginia said to have been educated in the Danville schools, but I don't see how this is possible if Rebecca was born in Caswell Co NC in 1838 as the 1850 Census indicates. [It's plausible they could have boarded with relatives in Danville during the school year.]

By 1870, Nathaniel Richmond was apparently deceased. The Camden, Ouachita Co AR Census, p.271, Hh 299, has:

Mrs. Wilson was born in Danville, Va.., August 20, 1832 and came to Arkansas about 1846. She was twice married, first to N.W. Richmond of Camden, Ark., October 8, 1848, and to R. M. Wilson of Columbus, Ark., on October 15, 1879. Both have been dead for many years.
For the past 12 years she has resided in Fort Smith with her son,, N. T Richmond. She has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for the past 67 years. She is survived by her son, Mr. Richmond, and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilson, for many years was a resident of Camden, and numbered her friends by the score. She was then Mrs. Richmond. Her husband, N.W. Richmond, was one of the prominent business of the town and the owned the home now occupied by Mrs. A. A. Tufts. The beautiful Crepe Myrtle trees, which still charm the eye of passersby, were planted by Mrs. Richmond, and have been called her “monument,” by loving friends. She was a woman of the sweetest and loveliest type of Christianity, beautiful in face and manners, radiating hope and happiness, ever in days of severe bereavement. She has kept in touch with the friends of olden time, friends who rejoiced in her living, and who now, with tear-dimmed eyes are bidding her “goodnight”.
“Sleep, oh, sleep
The Shepherd Loveth His Sheep,
He that guarded His flock the best,
Hath folded you to His loving breast.
So sleep ye now, and take your rest,
Sleep, oh, Sleep!”
