Sarah Whipple first married John Smith, the Miller, of Providence:
Letters of Administration granted unto Sarah Smith & John Smith, her son, Executrix & Executor of ye deceased John Smith (Miller) granted 2 Jun 1682.
On 12 May 1710, as widow of Richard Arnold, Sarah gave up management of her affairs to her "sons-in-law" [her stepsons], sons of Richard, i.e. Richard, John and Thomas Arnold provided they pay her 8 pounds per year. 12 May 1710. Samuel Comstock was a witness.
