Monta Fay Smith died at St. Joseph Hospital, Paris, Lamar Co, TX. She had been there 7 days. Her residence was Rt. 2, Honey Grove, Fannin Co, TX. Monta was born 15 May 1905 in Texas and was widowed. She died 29 Oct 1977, age 72, of cancer from the ovaries and obstruction of the bowel. Her father was Arthur Wishard, her mother Agnes Hulsey. John Smith, was the informant. She was buried Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Ladonia - Mrs. Fay Smith, 72, of Oak Ridge community died at 6:48 am Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris.
Funeral services are set for 2:30 pm Sunday at the Oak Ridge Church of Christ with Kenneth Neal officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery will be in charge of Delta Funeral Home of Ladonia.
Mrs. Smith was born May 15, 1905, in Fannin County, a daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Hulsey) Wishard. In 1934, she married Bill Smith who preceded her in death in Oct 1959. She was a lifelong resident of Oak Ridge.
Survivors are one son, John Smith of Oak Ridge; two brothers, Robert Wishard and Wayne Wishard, both of Oak Ridge; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Land, Mrs. Jewel Cunningham and Mrs. Laura Milton, all of Oak Ridge and Mrs. Johnny Fink of Mount Pleasant. Six grandchildren also survive.
