E. Wright, age 78. Born NC. If this is Elizabeth, widow of Durlin, her maiden name was said to be Enyart. There are Enyarts living in this neighborhood.

G. Wright age 41, b. KY and Jane Wright age 38, b. Ill. Marked married within the year. G. is probably a Gideon Wright and probably Elizabeth's son. A few houses away is found another Gideon Wright, possibly the son of Hezekiah & Delilah Wright. [Hezekiah was a son of brother Gideon] Since he was mentally deranged this may no even be the same Gideon.

Would appear that Gideon is in his mother's care. There are numerous Wright families in Howard Co MO - some would be descendants of Townsend Wright who was also in Howard Co.

Gideon was apparently mentally handicapped and required care. His mother's will left all her possessions to him in trust for his security.

In the matter of Gideon Wright – Benj C. Brown files information in writing that Gideon Wright is incapable of managing his affairs & praying that an inquiry thereinto be had. Whereupon the Court set Wednesday as the day on which sd inquiry be had.

In the matter of Gideon Wright… Continued until this day. Sheriff to summon 12 house holders of this county to inquire and to inform the sheriff. After the jury heard the evidence that did say that Gideon Wright was of unsound mind and incapable of managing his affairs.
Court appointed Benj. C. Brown, Guardian of the estate and person of Gideon Wright and he entered into bond.

Benj C.Brown, guardian of Gideon Wright proves notice of his intention to resign his guardianship, published four weeks before the adjournment of court by publication in the Glasgow Weekly Times & presents his application to resign sd guardianship. He also presents a settlement of his accts as Guardian which is rec’d by the Court & he is permitted to resign his Guardianship.
The Court appoint S. C. Major, guardian of the person & estate of Gideon Wright who is of unsound mind in place of B. C. Brown who has resigned. Ordered to enter into bond of $8000 which was done and approved.
