For 100 pounds sterling. 200 acres on branch of Rockey Creek in Chester County bounded on all sides by vacant lands when first surveyed. Granted to William Cloud, 1 Jun 1770. Signed William Cloud. Witnessed: James Cloud, Anna Cloud. Proved by James Cloud 21 Jan 1795.

Bounded by Jernikins land, vacant land, grant dated 5 Aug 1774 and lying in Fairfield County. Granted to John Wilson, from him to Charles Seal and from him to said Jones.

State of South Carolina
I Joseph Cloud,of the District of Fairfield and state aforesaid being of sound and disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and being desirous to dispose of all such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased God, to bless me with do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say
Item 1st...I give and bequeath to my wife Martha Cloud one half of my land including the houses wherein I now live I give her fifteen head of my cattle such as she may be disposed to take. Two of my best horses my best wagon barouch(?) household and kitchen furniture I do give and bequeath to my wife one negro slave Linder with her future issue with the above mentioned property except the land to dispose of amongst my sons and daughters or either of them as it may best suit her I also give my wife the crop that may be on the plantation at the time of my death I also loan unto my wife five negro slaves Jack Fanny Legrant Ross and Ellen to hold during her natural life or widowhood at her death or ceasing to be my widow the above named negro slaves Jack Fanny Legrant Ross and Ellen with the future issue of Fanny and Ellen also Linder and her future issue in case she has not been dispossed of above mentioned are to return to my Estate and be sold as hereinafter mentioned
Item 2nd...I do give and bequeath to my son Austin N. Cloud and to his children one negro slave Charles. I do give and bequeath to my son James H. Cloud and to his children one negro slave Amanda and her future issue. I do give and bequeath to my son John B. Cloud and to his children two negro slaves Anny and Reuben I do give and bequeath to my son Wm. A. Cloud one dollar as I consider he has allreaddy received his share and bequeath to my son Anderson I. Cloud and to his children one negro slave Richmond. I do give and bequeath to my son James H. Cloud his heirs and assigns two negro slaves Mariah and Mary intrust that is to say for Douglas B. Cloud and for his children In case he dies not having any children living at the time of his death the above named negro slaves Mariah and Mary her child are to return to my Estate with their future issue and sold at public auction and the money to be equally divided amongst the rest of my children I do give and bequeath to my son Franklin D. Cloud one negro slave George and one half the land I live on with the remaining half at the death of my wife I do give and bequeath to my daughter Alice Barber and to her children one negro slave Amelia and her future issue I do give and bequearth to my daughter Ann C. Bailey and to her children two negro slaves Mary and Charlotte and their future issue I do give and bequeath to my daughter Eliza M. Hood and to her children two negro slaves Harriet and Ellen and their future issue
Item 3rd...It is my will and desire that the remaining part of my stock goods and cattles shall at my death be sold to the highest bidder at public auction on a credit of six months with two approved securities when the money is collected for this and all notes and accounts that I may have in possession at the time of my death shall be added to what money there is on hand after all the debts are settled against the Estate and divided amongst such Legatees and in such way as I shall name Austin N. Cloud one share James H. Cloud one share Douglas B. Cloud one share Franklin D. Cloud one share and my daughter Jane McKey one share John B. Cloud two shares Anderson J. Cloud one half share Alice Barber one half share Ann C. Bailey one half share and Eliza K. Hood one half share and lastly it is my will and desire that the five negro slaves Jack Fanny Legrant Rofs and Ellen shall be sold also Lindar and her future issue shall be sold provided she has not been disposed of as before mentioned on a credit of twelve months amongst such of my Legatees as I shall name and on other person Austin N. Cloud James H. Cloud John B Cloud Anderson I. Cloud Douglas B. Cloud Franklin D. Cloud Wm. Barber Charles Bailey and James Hood the purchasers to give two approved securties when the money is collected it is to be divided amongst the above mentioned Legatees and each ones share to be as their aabove mentioned shares are.
I appoint Austin N. Cloud John B. Cloud and Franklin D. Cloud my Executors to execute this my last will and testament In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the ? day of ? in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.
