Her birth year is computed from deposition for husband's pension. I have seen no confirmation that her surname was actually Ross. Her death date is recorded in pension payment records.

NOTE: There is a NC Will, Rowan Co, dted 1 Nov 1788 by James Ross - he names his wife Jean and four children. Joseph, Benjamin, Jean and Susannah. He mentions a daughter-in-law Grizzel Shaw and her child John Shaw. He leaves his wife all tock to support the four children who are UNDER AGE. His son Henry Ross to be executor. Proved 4 May 1789. Since Susannah, wife of Henry Winkler was married in 1778 - she cannot possibly the Susannah of this will who was underage ten years later.
