Mrs. Emily Baker died in Birmingham, Jefferson, AL - she lived at 330 7th St in the suburb of Powderly. She was a widow; her husband was Amos M. Baker. Emily was born 25 Sep 1868 and died, age 79, on 20 Feb 1948 from a probable coronary thrombosis. She was born in Clanton, AL to Anderson Baker and Mary Ann "Hendly", both born in Alabama. O. H. Baker (son) was the informant. Emily was buried Walnut Creek Cemetery, Chilton Co.

MRS. EMILY BAKER DIED
Mrs. Emily Baker, age 80, died at the home at Powderly Station, Birmingham, last Friday night at 7:20 o'clock.
...One son, Ollie Baker, of Birmingham survives, as well as one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Latham of Powderly, Ala. There are five grand children - A. E. Latham, Jr., J. S. Latham, W. O. Baker, Mrs. Dermon Statham, and Raymond A. Baker. There are sever great grand children.
She was the widow of Amos M. Baker who died some five years ago. Two brothers survive - A. Tom Baker of Mobile and Wm. E. Baker of Verbena Route 2.
Mrs. Baker was a native of this county, a daughter of Anderson Baker and Elizabeth Mims Baker. This was a pioneer family of this section, an uncle of hers being Alfred Baker, the founder of Clanton and namesake of Baker County which became Chilton when Emily Baker, the deceased was seven years old.
