Mrs. Durfee, age 46, wife of Stephen, died 14 Sep 1829 in Palmyra.
[This would seem to be the 2nd wife, Sarah Fuller, not Mary Allen.]
Also in the GENEVA GAZETTE on 23 Sep 1829:
Sarah Durfee, age 46, wife of Stephen, died in Palmyra.
There is a marriage recorded in the WAYNE SENTINEL on 13 Feb 1822: Stephen Durfee of Palmyra married Sarah Fuller of Scipio.
and
on 31 Dec 1830: Stephen Durfee of Palmyra married 30 Dec 1830, Mary Bristol of Macedon at the Friends Metting House, Macedon.

Stephen Durfee was in the Wayne Co NY 1850 Census. He lived alone at age 74. He was a farmer with property valued at $7000. Birthplace: Rhode Island.
There's an excellent chance his daughter Mary, spouse of Elisha Brown, was living next door, but I have no confirmation of this. She was listed as age 34.
William Durfee the eldest son was on the same page as Stephen in this census.
