Individual Details

WILLIAM PERKINS

(25 Aug 1706 - Bef 18 Mar 1755)

Date of birth is the Baptism Date rather than birth date.

In September of 1735, the Vestry minutes contain the following: "That Wm Perkins Junr, set up new Benches made of saw'd white Oak Plan 2 Inches thick, with good mawld Blocks to support them, pinnd. down by or before the 1st April ensuing, to be paid after the Rate of 2 #'s tobacco per foot in length, the Benches to be 11 Inches wide." The Vestry meeting of 29 Sep 1736 shows that he was paid 400 #'s of tobacco for Setting up Benches for the Church - 200 Foot of Plank. In December of 1736, Isabella his first wife died. These records in 1736 are the last in which he is referred to as Junr, so his father must have died some time after that year.
Williams Perkins was one of the processioners of Precinct 4, in New Kent Co in 1751; this is likely this William. In Nov of 1752, he was paid by the Parish for 5 Horse Blocks.

St. Peter's Parish Records state: Mary Ann daughter of Mary Perkins widow, born Mar 18 [1755]. So William died before this daughter was born.
