Received Pension (#1303) for Francis R. Morris's service in the Civil War. Her application from Coosa County was accepted 26 July 1899 under the act of the General Assembly of AL, 10 Feb 1899. Her husband died in September of 1863 and she has not remarried. G. S. Morris and J. F. Patterson testified on her behalf, 6 Mary 1899.
She had applied several times previously (apparently had to reapply annually), 28 Feb 1889, testifying that her property did not exceed $400 in value. Also applied on 10 Jan 1891, and 12 Apr 1892. Applied 13 May 1896, 23 Mar 1897, and 17 May 1898, when she lived in Stewartville, Coosa County, stating she owned nothing.

I have found names for only four, possibly five children. An online database also lists sons named Gordon, William and Carl. I have found no trace of them.
