12 Oct 1899 - Francis M. Jones' Confederate Pension, File #3119, was approved.
It was filed 11 Jul 1899, Navarro Co. Jones stated he was 66 years old and had lived in Navarro Co for 35 years. He was a farmer, but in feeble health. He was injured in the Battle of Yellow Bayou in La. when a mule fell on him and have never recovered strength. He served in Co. C, 1st Tex. Inf under Capt Decatur. - the second service in Co. J, 19th Tex Cavry, Col. Buford's Regt. Enlisted in Panola Co and served in Virginia, 5 months, then in Louisiana, Arkansas & Texas for 3 years - total 3 1/2 years. He had received a donation land certificate which was sold to Geo. T. Jester for about 25 dollars. He owns a pony horse & buggy worth about $25. He has sold no property in the past two years and is in indigent circumstances. He is unable by his own labor to provide support. He never deserted the Confederacy and has been a resident of the state of Texas continuously since before 1 Jan 1880. R. J. Wright & John Hooper testified that he knew him and knew he served as stated.

Buried Old Jones Cemetery in Navarro.
This cemetery, long abandoned, is about a mile east of Navarro, Navarro County, Texas. It was surveyed in April of 1981, and then the cemetery was overgrown and difficult to locate. Only four markers:
