Bennett and Elizabeth are buried Heaslet Cemetery, Talladega Co, AL. The marker as pictured on FindAGrave is much too new to have been placed when the died. His dates are 1807-1864; hers are 1809-1867. However, Elizabeth lived to be counted in the 1870 census. Also, Bennett has been entered twice - one has a photo - Memorial# 5418285,

Proof that Bennett is a son of William Collins Edwards is found in the settlement record of William Collins Edwards estate: Probate Court Perry Co 14 Feb 1859 Bk H, p. 314. Articles of Agreement dated 8 Aug 1857 re settlement of estate of William Edwards deceased, signed by all sons and sons in law [one was Bennett Edwards]. R. C. Edwards [Reuben Calloway Edwards, son of Wm. C.] is one of the signatures. This article of agreement was signed at bottom by William T. Edwards, as Agent for all. ) Wife of William Edwards stated to be an Elizabeth Bennett - but no proof offered. Doubtful he had the middle name "Collins".
