30 Aug 1923, Mrs. J. M. Edwards, widow, applied for his pension. John M. Edwards enlisted 5 March 1863 and had died 25 Nov 1919. She stated that he was wounded at Port Hudson, 15 Apr 1863 by a minnie ball in the knee. He was taken prisoner at Franklin, TN, later paroled.
