1681 Records of the Parish of Blissland in the County of New Kent contain this item: “Thomas Mims, ye sane of Thomas and Anne Mims, baptized at ye Great Church 24th April, 1681.”

Apr 1704 in Henrico County, "Thomas Mims Jr" bought 74 acres on the south side of Chickahominy Swamp from Gideon Macon." The above three references to Thomas Mims, Jr. indicates his father was still living as late as 1704.

Grand Jury, Middlesex County, 1704. Thomas was arrested for traveling "On the Public Road on the Sabbath with a Loaded Beast".
1714 - patent to 500 acres in Henrico Co, VA - became part of Goochland Co, 1727. Patent Book 10, p.217. 23 Dec 1714. New Land, South side main branch of Tuccahoe Crk adjacent William Burton, Benja. Woodson, and Michael Johnson. Cavaliers III, p.164. A patent to Michael Johnson, 22 Jan 1717, Henrico Co, also mentions that 500 acres is adjacent Thos. Mims's land. And a patent to Henry Harper, 9 Feb 1727, was 400 acres on branches of Lickinghole Creek, Henrico Co, and one boundary crossed Thomas Mims' Mill Run.

August 30, 1717 John Scott of New Kent County bought 100 acres on Tuckahoe Creek in Henrico (now Goochland) County from Thomas Mims and sold it to Philip Webber of King William County 4 April 1727. Judith relinquished her dower right.\ [wife of Scott?]

July 1, 1718, Henrico County, Virginia. Thomas Mims of Henrico County to Joel Chandler of New Kent, for L5, 100 acres near Tuckahoe Cr., Sarah Mims relinquishes dower. (Henrico Co. Records, Weisiger).


Thomas is thought to have had a second wife whose given name was Sarah. Some believe the daughter Sarah was her child.
