This may be wrong ....the Thomas in Bladen appears to have been the son of Lionel Mims, b. 15 Feb 1707/8. That Thomas said to be the one that married Grace Britton.
16 Aug 1748. Signed a petition declaring he was a resident of Anson Co, NC, regarding a grievance against the tobacco tax.
11 Oct 1749. Attended a Council at New Bern, NC and applied for 200 acres of land in Bladen Co.
Bladen Co was established 1734 - 55 other counties would be formed from the original area; Anson was taken from Bladen, 1748.
Known children were Thomas, David and Grace.
Son Thomas, received a grant from the state of NC that was in the part of Bladen Co that later became Chatham.
