SARAH ?Blase
(Abt 1653 - 9 Oct 1716)
An article from Tidewater Virginia Families did not have the information from the Will of William Blaise. Instead the article lists a wife Grace Blaise, daughter of William Blaise, who Marvel Moseley married by 1675, and a second wife, Sarah, surname unknown, who Marvel married before 1681.
Apparently the wife of Marvell is named as Sarah in a document by 1681, making her the mother of John. The will of William Blase is ambiguous in that he had two daughters, one of whom is unnamed. [See note of William Blase] My interpretation of the will is that he may even have mentioned two sisters, not daughters, one of whom was named Grace Mosby.
I believed most people have assumed the Grace Mosby named in William Blase's will was the wife of Marvel Moseley but I do not agree. My reading of the will is such that Grace Mosby/Mosly was not necessarily wife of Marvel Moseley. I also consider that the term "my loving son Marvell Moseley" could have referred to a stepson of William Blase, not necessarily a son-in-law.
It is interesting that Marvel Moseley's name is spelled both Moseley and Mosely in the will. Grace's surname has only 5 letters - looks more like Mosby to me, but could perhaps have been Mosly.
