Goodman Family Gazette, Quarterly.  Vol. 3, Spring.  Queries, p.9
Richard Goodman m. Polly Middleton, Barron Co KY  25 Apr 1813. 1820 census twice.  1850, Jefferson Co IL w/ wife Mary b. GA, 56; himself b. NC, age 60.  Nancy 13, Lucinda 11, Mary J. 3.  Nearby are sons Hezekiah, 35 b. KY.  William 31, b. AL.  Frances, dau, age 36 is next door with husband Ira E. Cole, Richard W. Cole, 15 and Elizabeth Goodman, age 5.  Hanson Goodman, another son, bought property near Spring Garden where Richard lived. Hanson Middleton was Polly's father. In KY, Richard was witness at the wedding of Hosea Goodman and a granddaughter of Joseph Lee.  Bysha Goodman was another witness.  1810, Harden, John, Alexander & Abraham Goodman were neighbors.  William Goodman did not live distant.  In 1820, Richard, Charles, Charles Jr., Johnson & John Goodman were in Barren Co.   Contact Lou Hale Smitheram, Santa BarbaraCA.
No year on above, others issues were from 1988 & 1989.
Note: Richard was a bit too old to be another son of Abraham. With Richard still in Barren Co KY in 1820, were a number of other Goodmans - the oldest was a Charles that was apparently there also in 1810, and a widowed Mildred. See Abraham Goodman's notes.

1830 Census. Montgomery Co, Illinois [indexed on Ancestry as Tazewell Co, but signed on last page as Montgomery]
Hosea Goodman: 1m age 30-40. 2f under 5, 1f 5-10, 1f 10-15, 1f 30-40
He lived in a nest of Goodmans, one of whom was likely his father-in-law
Hardin Goodman: 2m 5-10, 2m 10-25, 1m 50-60. 1f 15-20, 1f 40-50
L. Goodman: 1m -5, 1m 20-30, 1f 20-30 [possibly Hosea's brother Lemuel]
then Hosea
Minerva Parks: 2m under 5, 1f 5-10, 1f 20-30 [she was nee Goodman]
Washington Goodman: 1m 20-30, 1f under 5, 1f 20-30
There were also Barlows living on both sides of the Goodmans. That is another surname sometimes associated with the Goodmans.

Barren Co KY Marriage: 5 Jan 1818. Sally Goodman to Hozea Goodman.

There is a marriage in Maury Co for Wilson Parks to Minerva Goodman, 25 Oct 1821. Bondsman was Terril Goodman - both signed with their mark.

Hardin Goodman had moved to Graves Co KY by 1840 - I did not find Hosea there, but he was there by 1850

1850 Census. Graves Co, KY, Hh 183
Hosea Goodman, age 52, b. SC
Sarah, age 51, b. NC [thought to be a cousin Sarah or Sally Goodman, daughter of Hardin Goodman - their marriage was 5 Jan 1818, Barren Co, KY, Abraham stated as father of Hosea.]
Malinda, age 15, b. Illinois
James Brogdun, age 17, b. Tennessee [Some have listed a son of Hosea as James Brogden Goodman, but in 1860 in Wayne Co TN, there was a James Brogden, age 27, living two doors from Hosea's sister Telitha and her husband Jordan Middleton. I do not believe James was a son of Hosea, but he might have been a relative. Since middle names were not common in this family, and the enumerator used "dittos" I feel certain that James's surname was Brogden.]
Note: Daughter Jincy & husband Perry Drew were in Hh 182. Daughter Catherine & husband J. B. Rust were in Hh 184.]

Likely relatives of Hosea found in 1850: Hh 185
Ervin Goodman, 33, b. Tennessee
Mary, 25, b. Ky as were the children
Francis, 9 months, male. Tennessee, 2, female
Hh 186 Note: Samuel is a bit too old - if his age is correct, Hosea would have been only about 15 when he was born. Maybe a nephew? Maybe both were nephews, cousins, etc.
Samuel Goodman, 37, b. KY
Catherine, 35, b. GA
A. L/P Goodman, 6, b. KY, female. Nancy 2, b. TN. A. Goodman, 11, b. KY, male, Henry, 8, b. TN.

Other Goodmans that lived in Graves Co in 1850:
Hh 164
James W. Goodman, 28, peddlar, b. TN
Eliza, 24, b. AL. Mary 7, b. TN, Julia, 1, b. KY
Hh 794
Thomas Goodman, 70, b. NC - all his family also born in NC
Delia, 60. Sarah 20. Mary 18. Elizabeth Ervin, age 25.

I could not Sarah Goodman in 1860; Hosea apparently deceased.

By 1870, Sarah was a widow, living in Graves Co KY. She was listed as Sarah Goodman, age 72, b. NC, living in the household of Jincy Ann Drew, age 51, a widow, b. TN. Jincy Ann was a daughter, the eldest child of Hosea, and was already a widow in 1860 in Graves Co.
