Date of birth given by Staci Haden: 24 Jun 1820.
3. Charles Spencer, b. 19 Jan 1824, d. 29 Dec 1906, Shelby Co, TX. Married 13 Sep 1849 in Pittsylvania Co to Mary Caroline Obertheir. Mary Caroline was b. 19 May 1827 and died 2 May 1876 in Henderson, TX. Charles married (2) in 1877, Louemma Douthit Woolwine.
4. Eliza A. Haden, b. ca 1826, married 3 Apr 1849 to John McGregor, Pittsylvania Co
5. Richard S., b. ca 1827, married 7 Oct 1852 to Emily Woody, Pittsylvania Co. Richard died bef 1900, probably Pittsylvania Co.
6. Paulina S., b. ca 1829, married 27 Dec 1852 to William S. Shelton, Pittsylvania Co
7. James C., b. ca 1832, d. 13 Jun 1897 in Bedford County, VA. Married (2) Polly, surname unknown and (2) Mary L Adams 14 Dec 1870 in Bedford County, VA by R A Compton, daughter of Grief Adams and Willie Nodmouth. She was born 1847.
8. Thomas D., b. ca 1835, married Ann Brially Rowles 23 Dec 1858 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia by Rev Samuel F Shelton, daughter of Elisha Rowles and Margaret Wilson.

10. Daniel W. Haden, b. ca 1842, married Mittie F Adams 14 Dec 1870 in Bedford County, VA, daughter of Grief Adams and Willie Nodmouth. She was born 1832 in Bedford County, VA, and died 18 Aug 1877 in Bedford County, VA.
In 1880, Daniel and his three children were living with his brother James in Bedford Co.

William's name is also seen as William C. Haden, but I believe that to be a different man, a single man living in Pittsylvania Co 1850-1870. I believe this younger William C. Haden is possibly a son of Anthony D. Haden who died in Pittsylvania Co in 1829, or he is a son of John Haden Jr.

I suspect these young men could be his cousins, sons of John Haden Jr, whose wife was Jane Askew Skelton, daughter of Young & Henrietta Shelton.

John L. [Lewis] Haden's family had added three more children - Bennett age 7, James 5, and Charles 3. The daughter listed as "Elsy" was now Elvira. There was no daughter Nancy who would have been about 17 and could have married.

In 1870, Charles S. Haden was still in Rusk Co, in Henderson, age 46. Mary C., age 43. Virginia A. was age 15, Sada E. 14, Eliza H. 12, John A. 10, William F. L. age 7, and Ferdinand J. age 5.
In 1880, he was in Shelby Co TX: He was age 56. 2nd wife, Louemma, age 27. Willie F. L. age 16, son. Frederick, age 14, son. Ella Forsyth, listed as daughter-in-law, age 8, but must have meant stepdaughter. Nettie Haden, age 1 year, 8 months.

A Thomas Haden, age 45, Wheelwright, is curious - his information doesn't really match what's usually seen about this man. His wife is listed as Nancy 40. Children Lucy 11, Irina 8, John W. 5, and Henry 2. He follows a Robert Vaden and I wonder if this man's surname is simply wrong in the census and he was instead Thomas Vaden and family.

John L. Haden was still there in Pittsylvania in 1870. Age 49. Lucy E. 43. Children: Elizabeth 28, Eliza A. 23, Martha 21, Mary 18, Perlina 15, Coleman B. 14, James J. 13, Charles E. 12, Thomas 9, and Eliza J. age 7. His son John, now age 30, was in his own household.
In 1880, "Louis" Haden, age 60, was still in Pittsylvania Co, living in Tunstall. Lucy 58, wife. Sons Charles 21 and Thomas 19, were still at home. Eldest son John lived nearby with his family.

I found William's son Thomas still alive in 1900 in Banister, Pittsylvania Co. He was age 65, born Nov 1836. He had been married 31 years. Ann B., wife, was age 63, born Feb 1837. She had eleven children, all living.
Children living with them were: Picket, son, age 24, born Aug 1876. Nannie B., age 22, born May 1878. Minnie U. was age 19, born Mar 1881, and her twin, Jinnie L. also born Mar 1881. Etta M., daughter in law, age 22, b. Sep 1877, was also listed. All born in Virginia.
Another son Halnious [Pegram Halenious] was also in Pittsylvania Co in 1900. Another son, Daniel D. was living there in 1910.
Although I have seen a listing of their children, I have been unable to find any of this family between 1860 and 1900 - obviously indexed in some way I haven't discovered.
