Micajah Clark

There was a Micajah Clark disowned from the South River MM for joining the army in 1770.

He served in the Revolution from North Carolina, Pension #S30940. Application for the pension was made from Warren Co KY, 22 Oct 1833. Micajah was then age 83 and too feeble to appear in court. He entered the service in Aug 1776 in Surry Co NC and was commissioned a Captain in Col. Martin Armstrong's "Minute Men". After the war he lived in South Carolina and Alabama before moving to Warren Co KY in 1827. His brother Jonathan, living in Hopkinson, Christian Co, KY mad deposition in support of Micajah's application. Jonathan stated he was born in Bedford Co VA in 1759 and was living in Surry Co in 1776 and knows positively that his brother was called a Captain and acted as Captain.

Micajah & Luranna did not sell their land in Campbell Co VA until 1784, on the same date & to the same person as Bowling & Winefred sold their tract. DB 1, p.346 & 348.

Micajah Clark is on the 1790 census in Pendleton District, SC. In 1799 he purchased 488 acres, both sides Estos Creek on the waters of Keowee River from Joab Terrell. About four years later, he and Luranna sold 1000 acres, probably preparing to move to Alabama.

Micajah left a will in Warren Co, DB D, p.69, dated 6 Aug 1837 and probated January Court, 1839.

There are transcripts of a Bible record of his children but no one seems to know the current location of the Bible.
