Elijah Pippin

(Abt 1756 - Abt 1830)

Elijah married Elizabeth Swift, 3 Aug 1790, Caroline Co MD. Based on the census records of Caroline Co, 1790-1820, and the will of Elijah, they had no children.

Elijah purchased 75 1/2 acres, Hazzard Resurveyed, from John & Malachi Swift of Kent Co DE on 14 Jan 1807. He sold a plot of this tract to be used for a house of worship for the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church on 25 Mar 1820. Elijah & Elizabeth Pippin both acknowledged the sale.

Elijah wrote his will 25 Dec 1829, Caroline Co MD. He left his dwelling plantation, Hazzard's Resurveyed for her lifetime and at her death to Elijah Pippen, son of Darius Pippen. He also made bequests to Elizabeth Milbourne, George Pippen, Margarett Downes, Susan Pippen, & Sarah Norris. Wife and Samuel Norris to be executors.
Signed: Elijah (X) Pippen.
Wit: Geo. Newlee, John Cutler, Richard Ross
9 Mar 1830, George Newlee & Richard Ross presented the will for probate.

Darius Pippin was likely the son of Elijah's brother John. Zachariah had a son George. The others are unknown but are likely nieces of either Elijah or Elizabeth.
