Individual Details
Thomas Pippin
(Abt 1840 - )
Thomas married Sarah "Sally" Brewington, daughter of Matthew & Sena Brewington. Thomas was age 22 when he enlisted as a private in Co G, 25th TN Infantry, Confederate on 30 Jul 1861 at Livingston, Overton Co TN. 10 Mar 1863, he transferred to Co K, 28th Consolidated TN Infantry. Then on 1 Apr 1863 he was transferred to Company I, 25th TN Infantry. The family is on the 1870 census in Jackson Co with their first six children. Two more were born to the couple.
Thomas was 29, Sarah, age 34.
Nancy E. 15. John, 11. William 9. Redman, 8. Morgan 4
and Uriah, age 6 months, marked as a male, but listed as Sarah in the Pippin book.
It's a bit curious that Thomas was still at home with his father and mother in 1860, but two children had been born prior to that year. Could they have been stepchildren?
