James & Nancy are on the 1850 Census in Jackson Co. He died about 1856 while Nancy was pregnant. Nancy and her daughters then moved to Jackson Co AL to be near her parents. They are enumerated there in 1860. There were five daughters. Nancy died in 1865.

1 Jan 1866, Labon Pippin brought a bill of complaint for sale or partition of a tract of land of 273 acres on Blackburn's Fork of Roaring River, owned jointly by himself & his brother James William Pippin. He states that both his brother and his wife Nancy are deceased and their children are ophans living in Alabama. The property was neglected and a sale price would be of most value to the children. Labon did purchase his brother's share for $212.50.
