Strange - 19 children are given to this couple in the Ancestry Databases. All crowded in and around the children listed here. Many are shown as having died within a year. I find evidence of only five living children born by 1880 when Malinda was age 53. There are exact dates for many - possibly a Bible record? There is one child that seems particularly questionable - a Thomas Watts Williams, said born in 1857 and died in 1910 - he should be in the 1870 census, but isn't. He married in Illinois. His inclusion makes me suspicious of several others - some of the births are simply too close together. In one database, the children of his brother Elias are interspered with those of John. There was a living son named Benjamin, age 8, counted in 1870 and there is a Benjamin born in August of 1870 also named Benjamin. Few death dates are exact - they seem more like estimated for "died as an infant". I have included here only those children found in the 1870 census.
