Attest: Jose Adamson, James M. Dodd
State of Tennessee, DeKalb County October Term 1835. On motion the last will and testament of Wells Adamson Dec'd was produced in open Court for probate and was duly proven in open Court by the oaths of Joseph Adamson and James M. Dodd subscribing witnesses to the same who being sworn depose and say that they were acquainted with Wells Adamson and that he was a man of sound mind and memory and that he also acknowledges that he executed the within will on the day it bears date for the purposes therein Contained and on Motion ordered to be recorded. Witness my hand at office this the 1st day of October 1838.
T. M. Wade, Clerk of DeKalb County Court.

I searched DeKalb wills all the way to the 1870's without finding any will for a wife - perhaps there was some other settlement at her death since there was both land and slaves involved.

I believe the eldest daughter Cinthia married William L. Adams - and Wells' wife was deceased before 1850.
