A Margaret ADAMSON appears on a marriage bond taken out 1809 in Mason Co., KY by her intended, Uriah WIGGINS and her brother, Joseph ADAMSON. Apparently Margaret & Uriah were married, for they both appear as witnesses to Uriah's son in-law, William WHATLEY in Catahoula Parish, LA in 1815.
She is thought to be a daughter of Jesse T. ADAMSON and Mary WELLS. Uriah's apparent relative, William WIGGINS's daughter, Ruth WIGGINS married 1790 in Mason Co., KY to Aaron WELLS. I say relative, because 2 years after Uriah's [his 2nd] marriage to Margaret ADAMSON, Ruth & Aaron name their last born children, a set of twins, Uriah and Daniel WELLS. Coincidentally, Uriah WIGGINS sons by his 1st wife, were Uriah and Daniel WIGGINS.

I have Margaret Adamson, daughter to Jesse T. married to
George Pugh. The reason for this is because in Jesse
T.'s will, Margaret's last name is Pugh. There is a
marriage between Margaret Adamson and George Pugh in
1800 in Knox County, TN, and Jesse T died in 1825,
eliminating the possibility that she married again in
1809. Perhaps this Margaret is the daughter of another
brother (Enos, Thomas, Jonathan?). They would have
known the Wells through Jesse T.

Most databases do have Margaret, daughter of Jesse T. & Mary Wells as the wife of George Pugh. The marriage was 29 Mar 1800. They had at least two children George R. Pugh who married Mary Hopkins, and Elizabeth Pugh who married David Crowder. Mary Hopkins said to be the daughter of a Stephen Hopkins (1790-1844) and Polly Adamson (1788-1840), a cousin.

Listed on FindAGrave are a daughter Sarah, who married Aaron Pierson, 25 Oct 1821, Maury Co TN. Sarah was born 1802, TN, died 1855, Bond Co, IL. She is buried McKendree Chapel Cemetery, Keyesport Landing, Bond Co, IL; and a son Jesse, born 14 Oct 1804, died May 1866 and is buried Hamilton Beeman Cemetery, Retreat, Navarro Co, TX - he married Polly David.

A daughter Charity was provided by a person with an autosomal DNA match to me - she married Nathan Kelly.

Early censuses show more children and I list children as shown in Internet family trees - they should be verified. 1820 census shows 3 females, 7 males.
