In 1700, Michael & Sarah Johnson witnessed the Quaker marriage of Thomas Lankford and Martha West of New Kent County.

VA QUIT RENTS 1704: Johnson, Mich. New Kent Co. 40 acres

Presumably this Michael Johnson is the same as the one found later in Henrico Co. The following children of Michael Johnson were baptised St. Peter's Parish in New Kent Co:
Daniell, son of Michael Johnson, baptised 16 May 1699
Anne, daughter, baptised 12 Feb 1705
Sarah, daughter, baptised 12 Oct 1707
Agnes, daughter, baptised 2 Apr 1708 [prob 1709!]

The order of births of the sons of Michael Johnson is not known.
The first record of Michael Johnson in Henrico Co is: 25 Dec 1714. Patent Book 10,
p.217. Thomas Mims locates 500 acres on Tuckahoe Creek adjacent Michael Johnson, William Burton and Benjamin Woodson.
In Book 10, p.345 can be found the recording of the patent of Michael Johnson, also 500 acres on Tuckahoe Creek, date 22 Jan 1717. Adjacent Benjamin and John Woodson and Thomas Mims. This location is now in Goochland Co VA. Two of the sons, John and James, also patented land adjoining their father.

On 22 Aug 1719 Henrico Co the inventory of Michael Johnson's estate was taken; it was presented in court by sons, John and James, and ordered recorded on 5 Oct 1719.. Son John's will later mentions the will of his father, but no will has been located.

Deeds of the second & third generation tell us more about Michael Johnson:
19 Jan 1756 Isaac Johnson of Lunenburg Co deeded 150 acres to John Johnson of Goochland County. The land on the South side Tuckahoe Creek. Except the graveyard where Michael Johnson, his wife and child is buried. The land was bounded by that of Benj Johnson dec'd, Daniel Johnson dec'd, John Johnson dec'd, and Moses Brumfield
4 Jan 1757 James Johnson [the younger] and Mildred his wife. 200 acres to William Harves and Tabitha his wife. Part of a tract taken up to Michael Johnson, grandfather of said James Johnson and bounded by Tuckahoe Creek.
13 Oct 1759 Joseph Johnson of Lunenburg Co. 200 acres to John Laprade of Goochland Co on Dover Mill Creek, adj. Robert Burton, John Barnett, and Daniel Johnson. Willed to the said Joseph Johnson by his father Michael Johnson.
15 Jan 1763 Benjamin Johnson [the younger], John & Agness Barnett [Agnes was Benjamin's remarried mother] deed 150 acres to Elisha Leek of Goochland Co. On Tuckahoe Crk adj Benjamin Woodson, William Webber, John Laprade and Moses Brumfield. Wit: Benjamin Woodson Jr, William Hodges, Joseph Johnson, John Johnson.
