Andrew Caldwell

According to MEN WHOM I REMEMBER, Andrew was one of the early preachers of the Methodist Church in Russellville, Logan Co KY.

p.74 Jun 1810 Abraham Johnson, age 17 on Dec next, bound out to Andrew & David Caldwell to learn the saddler's trade.
p.196 William Pitman, age 16, apprenticed to Andrew Caldwell, tanner.
Andrew built "The Knob" in 1825 and sold it to his son-in-law M. B. Morton in 1835. Morton lived there for 52 years, dying in 1887. The Knob was destroyed by fire in 1890. Daniel Morton, in his book MORTON AND KIN reported that his father David had moved about 40 bodies from the Knob to Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville at the time the property left the family.
Andrew wrote his will 17 Jun 1846, leaving his all of estate to his wife for her lifetime. Exec: M. B. Morton, son-in-law and William M. F. Caldwell, son. No witnesses listed but M. B. Morton & George D. Blakey swore it was his handwriting. Probate 22 Mar 1847.
