Griffin Pippin
(1801 - 1863)
Griffin fought in the Creek War in Capt Wilson's Co, Hardee's Battalion, 88th Regt of the GA Militia in 1836. His first wife's name is unknown - they had one son, Griffin Lambert Pippin.
Griffin married (2) Ramatha Gillead King on 3 May 1838 in Early Co GA. They had ten children: Ann, Solomon, Henry, Peter, Elias, William, John, Daniel, Dicy & Lavinia. The family is in the 1840 census in Walton Co FL, next to Griffin's nephew Ennes, son of Solomon III. In 1850, this part of Walton Co had become Washington Co FL. They were still in Washington Co in 1860 and 1870. Griffin is listed as a Walton Co FL pioneer in the Florida Pioneer Descendant Committee Listing.
Griffin died in 1863; Ramatha died after 1880. They are buried Tiller Cemetery, Vernon, Washington Co FL.
