Solomon Pippin III

Married (1) Milley ???, (2) Jane Newton Rooks, 9 Mar 1843, Washington Co FL.
By 1811, Solomon & Milley were living in Robeson Co NC. They were near Ashpole Swamp which was partly in NC and partly in the adjacent Marion District SC. Solomon signed documents with his signature rather than by mark. In 1816, while still in Robeson Co, Solomon bought 337 acres in Marion District SC - this was sold in two separate parcels four years later. Solomon also witnessed a deed in Marion District on Ashpole Swamp for his brother Salthiel. By 1827, Solomon & family had moved to Florida, just below the Georgia line. He bought land in Gadsden Co Florida and in Early Co GA. By 1839 he had sold his lands in Georgia and in 1840 was counted in the census in Walton Co FL.
Milley died in Walton Co on 1 Sep 1841. Solomon & Milley had eight children: Ennes, Nancy, Celia, Sally, John, Cressy, Elizabeth, & William.
Solomon then moved to Washingto Co FL where he married Jane who had three children, Sarah, John, & Anna, by her first husband and John King by her second husband. He was counted there in 1850. He was elected one of the Washington Co Commissioners in 1853. He and Jane had six more children: Solomon who died young, Hannah, Harriet, Ada, Owen & Catherine.
