Individual Details
Guy Earl McKim
(2 Sep 1878 - 1 Apr 1952)
In 1880, Guy was listed with as parents as age 2, born in Kansas. Later censuses indicate a birth year of 1880, but I would think the earliest one to be the most accurate.
1905 Kansas City, MO City Directory
McKim, Guy E., driver for Seven Springs Water Co. residence: 5714 Independence Ave (same residence as brother Victor & widowed mother)
Guy's World War I Draft Card registration gave his birthdate, 2 Sep 1878. He was a truck driver for his brother-in-law John F. Lynn and he listed his sister Laura Lynn as next of kin. He also gave the same address for his residence and his sister - 729 Ewing in Kansas City. His description was medium height, slender build. The color of his eyes has faded too much to be read, but he had black hair.

In 1920 Guy lived with his sister Laura and her husband. He was 40, born in Kansas, Laura was 35 and born in Missouri. They gave their parents as both born in Ohio. He never married. Guy was clerking in his brother-in-law's grocery store.
In 1830 Guy was still making his home with the Lynns and working in the grocery stores.
1940 Census. Guy was still living with the Lynns but they were all in Mission, Johnson Co, Kansas - the western part of Kansas City. Guy was 57, born in Kansas. His occupation was given as Caretaker, Private family.

Guy Earl McKim of 99th & Mission, Overland Park, Johnson Co, Kansas was age 63, born 5 Nov 1878 in Independence, Kansas. [Note: this date of birth doesn't agree with his WW I Registration or his death certificate.] Self employed. Mrs. John F. Lynn of Overland Park would always know his address. 5'6" tall, 135 lbs. Brown eyes, gray hair.
Guy and a sister, Mrs. John F. Lynn, both of Kansas City, were listed as survivors in Obit of Paul McKim. The Kansas City Directory gave the same address for both and the Lynns had been at that address for some time. Apparently Guy was living with his sister and brother-in-law.
