Mr. Stanhope was born Sept. 6, 1890 in Snowball, Ark., and had lived in the Oroville area 19 years. Among his survivors are his wife, Jennie of the home; three sons, John C. Jr., William and Bob, all of Oroville; three daughters, Mrs.. Iris Roza, Mrs. Patt Burtenshaw, both of Oroville, and Mrs. Peg Griffith of Jerome, Idaho; two sister, Mrs. Lois Whaley, Santa Rosa, and Mrs. Mabel Jennings, Greenleaf, Idaho; 24 grand children and three great-grand children.Funeral services will be held April 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton and Riley Funeral Chapel. Rev. Wayne E. Williams of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
