Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Wednesday, July 20, 1938, Page 8, Col. 6: Carl Todd, 40 a farmer residing near Ellsinore died at the Poplar Bluff hospital at 7:50 p.m. yesterday from a lingering illness attributed to injuries and gas poisoning received in the World War. He was in a critical condition when admitted to the hospital on July 13. Todd is survived by his widow Mrs. Trudie Todd, two brothers, Basil and Walter of Poplar Bluff and one sister, Mrs. Bertha May Collins of Madison, Ill. Funeral services will be held at the Walton Chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow with interment following in the Walton cemetery. The funeral will be conducted under the direction of the Frank Undertaking Company.
