Minerva Zenobia Kirkpatrick

The Prospect-News, Doniphan, Missouri, December 14, 1944, Front Page, Col. 4: Mrs. Minerva Jackson Dies At Daughter's Home. Mrs. Minerva Z. Jackson, a long time resident of the Amity community, died December 11 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. R. Ponder, of Doniphan, after an illness of several months. Funeral services for Mrs. Jackson were conducted at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Amity Church with burial in the cemetery there. The Rev. Elias Mitchell, of Flatwoods, was in charge of the service. Mrs. Jackson who was born in Wayne County April 27, 1875, is survived by eleven children, twenty-two grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. Her husband, T. W. Jackson died in 1939. Eight of the children were with their mother when she died. They were: W. D., Morgan City, La.; Lacy, Baton Rouge, La.; Sheridan, West Plains; Philip, Gideon; Mrs. Missouri Walker, West Plains; Mrs. Mattie Ormsby, Oxly; Mrs. Bertha Ponder, at whose home she died in this city; and Miss Stella Jackson, who has been here with her mother for some time. Three other daughters, who had been here during their mother's illness but who had returned to their homes at the time of her death, are: Mrs. Bessie Shoemate, Pikesville, Tenn.; Mrs. Ollie Penrod, Dearborn, Mich.; Mrs. Mattie [Hattie] McGhee. St. Clair Shore, Mich. One of Mrs. Jackson's sisters, Mrs. Lucy Gilbreath, of Shook, was with her when she died, and she has another sister, and a brother who could not come, and who are Mrs. Maud Layton, of Brosely, and Clarence Kirkpatrick, Quincy, Ill.
