Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Thursday, December 3, 1964, Page 11A, Col. 6: Mrs. Luella Layton Died Wednesday, Rites Friday. Mrs. Luella M. Layton, 83, Neelyville, died Wednesday, at the Poplar Bluff Hospital. She had been ill about six months. She was born on July 10, 1882, in Wayne County but had lived 20 years in Butler County. Mrs. Layton was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include seven children. Ules of Brosley, Wesley of Mt. View, Oness of South Roxana, Ill., Willard of Arnold, Mo., Hoyce of St. Louis, and Mrs. Lina Walker of Arbyrd, Mo., and Mrs. Bessie St. Cin, of Neelyville; 37 grandchildren, 16 great grand children and one great great grandchild, and a brother, Clarence Layton of Quincy, Ill. Services will be conducted at the Friendship Baptist Church on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clay Taylor officiating. Frank Cotrell Service.
