Lawrence M. Pearson, Delta resident, formerly of Pueblo, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colo. He was 85 years of age. Inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, Colo. Lawrence Mervin Pearson was born to Elmer Bruce and Madeline (Kamm) Pearson on Nov. 24, 1926, in Pueblo, Colo. Lawrence spent nearly his entire life in Pueblo. He graduated from Central High School in 1944. He furthered his education at the University of Denver, where he received his bachelor’s in finance in 1950. During World War II, Lawrence honorably served his country with the United States Navy. On June 13, 1949, Lawrence married the love of his life, Barbara Marie Clemens, in Pueblo, Colo. To this union, four children were born. Lawrence and Barbara celebrated over 56 years of marriage before Barbara’s passing on March 23, 2006. Lawrence, a retired banker, enjoyed playing tennis, officiating CASO USA swimming and spending time with his family. Lawrence is survived by three sons, Lawrence F. Pearson and wife, Monica of Fallbrook, Calif., Kenneth B. Pearson and wife, Elaine of Denver, Colo., and Brian J. Pearson and wife, Tiffiney of Grand Junction, Colo.; one daughter, Judy L. Davis and husband, John of Montrose, Colo.; and one sister, Margaret Stanifer. Lawrence is further survived by six grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Stephen, Piper, Kamden and Christopher. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Pearson; and three brothers, Art, Lyle and Chelsie Pearson. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Lawrence’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416.
