Arthur L. Pearson - Pueblo Chieftain - May 23, 2006 - Arthur L. Pearson, 90, passed away May 20, 2006. Survived by his siblings, Chelsea "Chuck" Pearson, Lawrence "Buss" Pearson and Margaret Stanifer; daughter-in-law, Barbara Pearson; former daughter-in-law, Barbara Moore, all of Pueblo; grandchildren, Jim (Susie) Pearson of Pueblo and Danney Rose of Ca–on City; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maebelle E. "Bobo" Pearson on Nov. 18, 2001; son, Clyde R. "Butch" Pearson on March 29, 2002; brother, Lyle Pearson; and grandson, Jeff Pearson. Arthur was born to Elmer and Madeline (Kamm) Pearson on Nov. 30, 1915, in White City, Kan. He was raised and educated in Pueblo. He was employed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers and AT&SF Railroad before entering the military during WWII, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of operations. After being discharged from the military, he was employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation, in the capacity of district design engineer during the construction of the Pueblo and Colorado Springs freeways, as well as numerous other roadway projects throughout Southern Colorado. Arthur was subsequently assigned district engineer at Grand Junction, covering most of the Colorado Western Slope and later served as staff construction engineer in Denver with statewide responsibility. Arthur retired in 1977, and enjoyed fishing, traveling and yard work. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. As per his request, there will be no viewing. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, St. Paul United Methodist Church, 107 E. Routt, with Pastor Tom Peacock officiating. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Those who desire, may make memorials to the St. Paul UMC through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors.Endnotes
