Social Security Application; Had just ended working as Draftsman for Pennsylvania Department of Highways on this day of application. I do not know what he was thinking but he put Sarah Mary Hosterman as his mother and it was Mary Sophia Hosterman. Men are just not interested in genealogy and the importance of facts. When he applied for his social security card the family was living at 390 Locust St, Indiana, Pennsylvania. Dad was able to get a better job for Day and Zimmerman a firm that sent him to Brazil to work along the Amazon designing air ports for the United States Government for the war effort. Dad was unable to enlist (4F) when the war broke out and he wanted to contribute to the effort and this was his way.Note
Dad was there for 2 years in the jungle. It was primitive living with no electricity. The army cooked for them until everyone revolted and the navy took over. Occasionally he would get out of the jungle to Reciefe or Belen.Residence
