he enlisted in the Air Force and left for San Antonio, Texas on the 18th, for basic training. On March he studied airplaine engines and mechanics at Sheppard Ait Force Base, Witchita Falls, Texas. Was stationed a Nellis Air Force base as a crew chief (Mechanic), on F76 jets. This was during the Korean police action (war).Promoted to Corporal 18 December 1951 3595th Training Group Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada

after his honorable discharge he was a ranch hand for a year in Jacksboro, TX, then worked for a year for the Department of Interior, for Fish and Wildlife, before returning to complete his college education.Occupation
Working as Mechanical Engineer for various small companies in Albuquerque. Has become an expert in construction of metal tanks for storage of liquids.Residence

recieved his Bachlors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Dick became a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, NM Society of Professional Engineers, and National Underground Contractors Association in 1968. He is professionally registered in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.Residence
Dick is still living on the farm north of the minimum security penitatentary in Los Lunas.Death
Present at time of Death, Elizabeth Albright.Dick suffered from kidney failure for about three years and was on dialysis. The belief is that the failure was due to the dye used in analysis of his arterial blood vessels. He needed a triple bypass operation that was not done because he was not strong enough, due to the kidney failure.
Dick was doing contract work up to the last three month before he died and was employed by D&R Tank up until the time of death.

Richard M. Goheen,79, a resident of Los Lunas thee 1950's died Sunday, January 9, 2011. He is survived by his sons, Richard T and wife, Sue of Albuquerque and John A., of Redlands, CA; grandchildren, Richard, Hailey, and Amanda: and sister Elizabeth of Frisco, TX. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Over his life he acquired , in several states. and maintained engineering degrees in mechanical, physical and professional engineering. He recently attended his 50 year graduation from UNM Engineering Department. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, and maintaining the farm. Richard always said "It was a hell of a ride, no regrets". A visitation will be held 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with services to follow, January 14, 2011 at French - Lomas Chapel, with Pastor Floyd officiating, with a reception to follow.
