Elizabeth Homberg was born November 11, 1854 in New York. She was united in marriage to Andrew Barthle on June 10, 1873 in Minnesota, moving to St. Joseph, Fla., in 1885. To this union ten children were born, six sons and four daughters. Her husband and three daughters preceded her in death, namely Ana Elizabeth, Mary Barthle Schiselbauer and Elizabeth Marie Barthle.
One daughter, Miss Josephine, of Groton and six sons, Chas. J., of Groton; M. J.; Ben, John and Casper of Dade City, Fla., and A. P. Barthle of Tampa, Fla., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends are left to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Barthle came to Groton in 1924, to visit her son, Chas. J. Barthle, after the death of her husband in 1923, and has since made her home here with the Barthle family.
