Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Ambrose "Amby" Meyer, age 88, who died Saturday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 pm Tuesday, and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 pm and the Cold Spring American Legion will pray at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Amby was born in Richmond, MN to Peter & Magdalen Meyer. He married Helen Blasius on June 13, 1945 in Richmond, MN. He retired from Cold Spring Granite Company in 1979 and spent much of his retirement hunting, fishing and enjoying nature. Amby was a member of the Cold Spring American Legion, WWII Last Man's Club, St. Boniface Parish, and a Lifetime Member of the Sportsman's Club.
Survivors include his wife Helen; children, Sharon (Roger) Mumm, Dwight Meyer, Stephen (Kim) Meyer, Barbara (Ronald) Fuchs, Mary Trisco, Mark Meyer, and Wendy (Elmer) Theisen; sisters, Clara Mackendanz and Pauline Dockendorf, 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son Peter Meyer; brothers Isidore, Raymond, Leander, and Roman; sisters, Irene Nordmann and Leona Schafer.
