Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Clara Mackedanz, age 98, who died Wednesday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery in Richmond. Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. 10:30 a.m. in the church prior to the service Saturday morning. Arrangements were entrusted with the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
Clara was born in Richmond, MN to Peter and Magdalen (Rothstein) Meyer. She married Sylvester Mackedanz on June 2, 1936, in Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Richmond. She was a housewife, and Mother. Clara enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, gardening and she loved winning at cards! She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish and the Christian Women.
Survivors include her daughters, Joann Drontle of Cold Spring and Donna Zentmire of South Bend, IN; 12 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester (2002); parents; daughters, Mary Kascht, and Carol Steil; brothers, Isidore Meyer, Raymond Meyer, Roman Meyer, Leander Meyer, and Ambrose Meyer; sisters, Irene Nordman, Leona Schaefer and Pauline Dockendorf.
