When they reached the foot of Federal Hill, just west of the river, the horse they were driving got scared at something and ran way, overturning the buggy and throwing the young ladies to the ground, but, fortunately, without seriously injuring either, they escaping with a few slight bruises. The frightened animal ran to the bridge, dragging the vehicle on its side, where it was stopped.
